Its a New year!

"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. " Matthew 5:14-16

Its a New Year which means its the time of year were we make promises to ourselves. Promises to lose weight, be better financially, pray more, or whatever your resolution is. Its really easy to do this in the beginning, to stay diligent. Iv'e fallen victim to this, but a few weeks in we fall short. I think we all have at some point. Made resolution, but not sticking with it.

When we think of sin things like stealing, fighting, or lying can come to mind. Its easy to think of these as sin, but what are the sins we don't think about.

I think a sin we all fall into is that of complacency. We get comfortable in our lives and we get complacent. We get complacent physically, financially and with our relationships with God. The Lord doesn't call us to be ordinary but extraordinary. We should always be striving to improve. So we can become a city on a hill that others want to be.

So this year don't just make a promise that your not going to keep. Instead make an agreement between you and the Lord. Find someone to help hold you accountable. Leave a commit down below what you want to change. Lets help each other reach our goals, and become a city on a hill.
